Navratri 2023

Navratri 2023 is starting from 15th of October 2023 to 23rd of October 2023. This Navratri is also known as “Shardiya Navratri”. This Navratri Starts just after “Pitrapaksh”/ “Shraad”.

According to Hindu Calendar, Navratri begins from the First Day of Shukl paksh of Ashawin month and ends on the Ninth Day. On the Days of Navratri People use to remains on Fast. Navratri is very special occasion for Hindus. We worship Maa Durga in different forms for Nine Days.

According to Vedas and Puranas Maa Durga herself is original power. She protects this world from demons. Huge fairs are hold at many places in India on the Days of Navratri. During Navratri, devotees go to see the Shaktipeethas of Maa Durga spread all over the India.

There are Nine days of Navratri and Nine forms of Maa Durga too. After Nine Days of Worship of Maa Durga, the idol of Maa Durga is immerse on the tenth day. The tenth day is the celebration of “Dusshera”.

Apart from India, In many other countries, Navratri is celebrate in very spectacular way and with great joy too. Along with Northern States, Gujrat and West Bengal Celebrate the festival of Navratri very specifically.

The Nine forms of Maa Durga, we worship for Nine Days are

Auspicious Time (Muhurta) Navratri 2023

(Muhurta) Auspicious Time for Start Day of Navratri is from 00:05 AM of 15th of October 2023 to 12:30 AM of 16th of October 2023.

Auspicious Time (Muhurta) of Ghatasthapna starts from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM of 15th October 2023.

Objects of Worship

Mata Rani ki Murti (Pratima), Lal Chunri, Chhoti Lal Chunri, Lal Kapda, Kalash, Mala, Ghanti, Chauki, Kalawa / Maulee, Kumkum / Raulee, Paan, Supaari, Jo, Kapoor, Nariyal, Jaayfal, Googal, Laung, Elaichi, Btaashe, Samigri, Upla, Ghee, Dhoop, Deepak, Agarbatti, Mishri, Maachis, Jyot Batti, Dhoopbatti, Kele, Lal Phool, Hawankund, Gangajal, Durga Aarti ki Kitaab, Pooja ke Chawal.

Method of Worship

Wake up early in the Morning, Take a bath and Collect all the above mentioned materials. Clean the place where you plan to keep Chauki of Mata Rani. Put “Pratima of Mata Rani” on the Chauki. Put the Upla on slow flame of Gas. Lay the red cloth on Chauki. Take a small amount of Clean soil and put some JO under the soil. Now put the Kalash full of water upon it. Make Satiya on the Kalash, and tie Kalawa. Wrap small red Chunri on Nariyal and put it with Mango Leaves into the Kalash. Now light the Deepak, Agarbatti and Dhoopbatti. Your upla is full ready. Now put that upla in Hawankund, flame it by the help of Ghee and Kapoor. Now offer laung, Elaichi, Supari, Jo, Jayfal, Googal, Bataashe, Mishri and Samigri in that fire.

Sing the Durga Chalisa and Durga Aarti. Now your worship is complete.
